Organists featured on this album were regular performers for the entertainment of patrons of Organ Grinder Pizza in Portland, Oregon. The house organ was a Wurlitzer pipe organ, previously installed in the Oriental Theatre of Portland. The Organ Grinder pizza parlor was established in 1973.

Though the record does not state it, this is Volume I of "At The Organ Grinder", retrospectively after Volume II came out. No dates are to be found on the record, but organist Jonas Nordwall says the release date would have been circa 1976.
